Free Will Service

What is the Free Will Service?

Our Free Will Service allows anyone 18 or over to easily write or update a simple Will for free.

Writing your Will is beneficial at any stage of life. If you get married, buy a property or have a family, these changes will directly affect your estate. So the sooner it is done, the sooner you can relax in the knowledge that everything is in order.

The free Wills are paid for by The Shakespeare Hospice but you are under no obligation to leave a gift to the Hospice to take advantage of the service. Our Free Will scheme is operated by Make a Will Online, which acts solely in your interests and only takes instructions from you. There is a limited number of free Wills available each month and Make a Will Online will advise you if that limit has been reached.

Make a Will Online Free

Making a Will online is an easy 3 step process and every Will is checked by a fully qualified UK solicitor ensuring peace of mind.

Simply answer a straightforward set of online questions, review and when you're happy, confirm. You will receive your will by email or post. If you need help to complete the forms, you should contact Make a Will Online. The Shakespeare Hospice cannot offer help.

To help us keep improving we’re told when a gift is left through this scheme.

By leaving a gift in your Will, your support will create a lasting legacy, helping The Shakespeare Hospice to continue to provide the very best of care and support to those in need in your local community today and in the future.

Any gift, regardless of size, makes a huge difference to the care that our patients, carers and their families receive.

Of course, we hope that it will be many years before The Shakespeare Hospice benefits from your generosity, but when the time comes please be assured The Shakespeare Hospice will put your gift to good use.

We advise anyone making or updating a Will to seek independent advice from a practising solicitor or other legally qualified Will writer.

To help you prepare and consider what you would like to have detailed in your Will, we've created a useful guide to making your Will online. The guide is not intended to constitute legal advice by The Shakespeare Hospice and the Hospice strongly recommends you seek your own professional advice.

When should I see a solicitor?

If you’ve got a high value estate worth more than the inheritance tax threshold, if you’re on strong medication or you have other concerns around mental capacity, have particularly complicated wishes or if you’d simply rather speak to a solicitor face to face you should do that.  You can find a list of solicitors at the Law Society.  Please make sure you drop us a line to let us know we’ve been remembered in your will if you do this. It makes an enormous difference to our future planning and sustainability of the hospice.

Please ensure your solicitor uses our full name: “The Shakespeare Hospice”, our charity number: 1064091, and our registered address: Church Lane Shottery Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 9UL.
