LEAP OUT OF LOCKDOWN FOR THE SHAKESPEARE HOSPICE

CHALLENGE YOURSELF AND JUMP WITH YOUR FRIENDS OR WORKMATES FOR AN EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEVER FORGET

Restrictions are starting to lift and we’re very excited to confirm that our popular skydive fundraiser is returning to the skies!

Following the recent Government announcement regarding the planned easing of lockdown restrictions, we are delighted to confirm that Skydiving activities are now due to resume from 12 April 2021. Reviews will continue to identify any changes required to the Covid secure measures that were followed in 2020 in order to allow for this return to be as safe as possible for all our amazing fundraisers and ensure they enjoy the exhilarating and unforgettable feeling of a skydive! For more information on how the airfields are adjusting to keep in line with COVID regulations, please download the following guide.

YOUR EXCLUSIVE SKYDIVING DAY

After arriving at the airfield and a short briefing you will be ready to jump from 10,000 feet. Training is run throughout the day and students are strapped to the front of a Tandem Instructor who is there to control the skydive for you.

Once you exit at 10,000 feet you accelerate to 120 mph, covering each thousand feet in approximately five seconds. At 5,000 feet the Instructor will deploy the parachute which will then be controlled by both persons until you land softly and gently some four minutes later.

• Jump and training completed in one day

• Harnessed to an experienced parachute instructor at all times

• Jump from at least 10,000 feet - just like the professionals

• Freefall down to 5,000 feet - falling through the air at 120 mph!

• Ride the parachute down to the ground - we teach you how to steer onto the drop zone

• Landing controlled by your instructor

• Certificate to prove that you have completed a ‘two-mile high’ Tandem Skydive!

FUNDRAISING INFORMATION

How does the sponsorship work?

We ask that you raise a minimum of £395 - This is split into 3 parts: a £70 deposit is paid to our event organiser Skyline when you register, a jump cost of £230 is paid to the airfield (the jump cost varies depending on the airfield), and the remaining £95 goes to The Shakespeare Hospice.

How can I fundraise?

You have the option to fundraise online, offline (see our guide for sponsor form) or both.

How do I get my £70 deposit back?

If you would like to reimburse yourself for your deposit, you can do so out of any cash donations that you receive. You cannot be reimbursed from any funds raised on your online fundraising pages. If you no longer wish to complete your skydive, your jump can be cancelled but the deposit is non refundable.

What sponsorship should I bring on the day?

If you have raised your money on an online fundraising page and reached the minimum of £325 on there you would just need to make sure that you let us know of the page. Once you have done that there is no money that you will need to bring along on the day.

If you are fundraising all of your money in cash you would need to bring the minimum along on the day but it would need to be in two parts. The first part would be your jump cost, this would need to be paid to the airfield by either cash or card. The second part would need to be brought along in a cheque made out to your chosen charity.

If you have not collected all of your cash in just yet then you can post date the cheque for four weeks after your jump to give you time collect the remaining sponsorship in.
