21st Birthday Shakespeare Way Walk - Event Postponed

17 May 2020

The Shakespeare Hospice 21 Mile Challenge Walk – Following in Shakespeare’s Footsteps

Date: Sunday 17th May 2020

Venue: The Shakespeare Way

Last year, many of our supporters requested that we organised a walk or trek of some kind.  In response to their wishes and aptly coinciding with our 21st Anniversary, we have created an exciting 21 Mile Challenge Walk.

Starting in the village of Long Compton in Warwickshire, close to the border of Oxfordshire, you will set out on a journey along part of The Shakespeare Way that will challenge and test your endurance.

This is a sponsored walk with a difference bringing together people of all ages and abilities.  It’s not all about the challenge but also to promote the benefits of walking for wellbeing and good mental health.  Walking and physical activity can help reduce the risk of cognitive decline and dementia in older people in particular.  The 21 Mile Challenge Walk is the perfect way for people to join together on a memorable journey whilst supporting The Shakespeare Hospice.

Finishing at the Arden Hotel opposite the RSC, there you can celebrate your achievement of completing 21 miles and will be able to relax with post event drinks and nibbles!

Registration fee: £21.00 to include:

- Transport (kindly supplied by Johnsons Coaches) from Stratford to Long Compton for all walkers

- Full back up support and walk leaders with you all the way

- Water/refuel stations

- Support vehicle

- Halfway Point Refreshments (kindly supplied by Ettington Park Hotel)

- Reusable water bottle

- Post event celebratory refreshments at The Arden Hotel

- Training and event advice including training walk plan
