Chaplaincy and Spiritual Support Volunteers

The work of the Chaplaincy Volunteers is to complement the work of the Hospice Team. The main purpose of this role is to help with the spiritual support of patients, relatives and carers under the direction of the Senior Chaplain.
It is expected that the Chaplaincy Volunteer will develop a rapport with Hospice patients and carers within their own personal limitations. The overall purpose of visiting on behalf of the Chaplaincy Department is to give support to patients and their families to offer them a listening ear and if relevant make appropriate and sensitive pastoral responses. The time and resources of the Chaplaincy Volunteer are available to individuals of any faith, or none.
