London Marathon World Record Attempt

By Johnsons Coaches

In a bid to raise money and awareness for our chosen charities, The Shakespeare Hospice and The Children’s Trust, John Johnson – Director of Johnsons Coaches – and his brother Bob have signed up to attempt a World First – a Guinness Book of Records attempt on the classification of ‘Fastest Marathon in a Two Person Costume’!

John and Bob have both completed the famous London Marathon before, sometimes fast – sub 3 hours – 10 years ago; and sometimes in fancy dress:

Bob is the one with all the daft ideas and his latest is that he and John should pair up and go for this Guinness Book of Records attempt of a two person costume. This is apparently a new classification, and they plan to run the Marathon in a two person canoe with their legs sticking out underneath!

This year’s race is coming soon on Sunday 26th April, so they don’t have long to get the canoe built and to do enough training. They have two targets – first they need to complete the London Marathon in less than 5 hours and secondly, most importantly they want to raise at least £5,000 for their two chosen charities: The Shakespeare Hospice and The Children’s Trust.
