Rise Above Covid

Monday 06 April 2020

Our Rise Above Covid challenge is proving a popular one for those who want to keep busy during the current lockdown, it not only helps you stay fit but also raises awareness of the Hospice and is a great way to gain sponsorship. Now more than ever, we need your support, if you would like to take part, get in contact with us at fundraising@theshakespearehospice.org.uk, alternatively you can sponsor one of the participants using the Just Giving links in their stories.

Jacob Earl

Jacob, aged 10, has renamed himself Jacob Stairwalker and has chosen to climb the height of Ben Nevis from home. He has been posting update videos to let everyone know of his progress and has already raised over £750, this is more than double his initial target of £300. When he last checked in, he had climbed over 230 flights. Click here if you would like to sponsor him.

Toby Richards

Toby is scaling the height of Ben Nevis all the way from his home in Dubai. When Toby last checked in, he had done 175 flights, equating to 2,275! That is over halfway now, keep up the hard work Toby and thank you for your support from all the way in Dubai.

Toby Yan

Toby, aged 12, is Jacobs uncle and is taking on the challenge head to head with Jacob. He is swapping his usual swimming for stair climbing to help him stay fit (and keep him off the PlayStation!). At last check in, Toby had managed 170 flights of stairs! Click here if you would like to sponsor Toby.

Simon Middleton

Simon is taking on the challenge from his home in East Sussex, he is climbing the height of Englands highest peak, Scafell Pike! As you can see, he is taking it very seriously!

Darren Bradley

Darren has been in self isolation for two weeks after his girlfriend displayed Covid-19 symptoms, he wanted to do something to keep active and raise awareness for the Hospice and chose to scale Ben Nevis! Click here if you would like to sponsor him.
