Light Up a Life This Christmas
Monday 28 November 2016
Christmas is a time of happiness and togetherness but for many it is also a time when they remember someone they have lost. The Shakespeare Hospice will be giving families and friends the chance to dedicate a light on the town’s Christmas tree in honour of their loved one with their Light Up a Life campaign. Each donation will dedicate a light on the Christmas tree in Stratford town centre and also on the Shakespeare Hospice tree in Shottery.
The money that is raised from the dedications will go towards funding the Children's Bereavement Service that the hospice provides. The service offers 1-2-1 support for any child who has been bereaved or is facing the loss of a loved one right from the moment of the diagnosis. The team are there to help them prepare for what is to come, support them through the impact of such a loss and provide coping strategies for them to use in the future.
Dedications can be for anyone that you wish to Light up a Life for they needn’t have been cared for by the hospice for you to remember them this way. Following your donation, you will receive a Christmas tree decoration, for your own tree, bearing the name of your loved one. Their name will also be written in to the Book of Remembrance which will be available to view throughout December at The Shakespeare Hospice and also at the Light Up a Life Remembrance Services. The services will be held on Sunday 4th December at 4pm at The Shakespeare Hospice and Sunday 11th December at 4pm at Holy Trinity Church.
