Children's Grief Awareness Week

Friday 20 November 2015

Every 22 minutes a child or young person in the UK is bereaved of a parent.

The Shakespeare Hospice is showing our support for Children’s Grief Awareness Week 2015 (19-25 November) by raising awareness of bereaved children’s needs through our Children and Young People’s Bereavement Service.

After the death of someone close, children need support in their grief, to be nurtured and to feel a sense of continuity, helping them weave together the threads of their past and their future.

Our work, both one to one and with groups of young people, helps grieving children and families realise that they are not alone.

If you or someone you know could benefit from our support please click here to find out more or contact us on enquiries@theshakespearehospice.org.uk or 01789 266852.

Family Support

Our Family Support Services include Children and Family Support Service, Bereavement Support, Counselling, Chaplaincy and Social Work Service.

For the families we support, we can offer volunteers to stay at home with a patient while the carer attends the Hospice or other appointments.
